Access control for recycling park Puurs in collaboration with IVAREM

After more than ten years of cooperation and an extended maintenance contract, IVAREM opted for a thorough renewal of the Diftar installation at the Puurs recycling park. This project is part of a broader modernization of the container parks within IVAREM's operating area - with Puurs as the first renewed location.

A clear plan, specific requirements

IVAREM had a clear vision for the new installation, with concrete expectations:

  • Replacement of all existing hardware and cabling
  • New access and payment terminals for vehicles and pedestrians
  • Strict access control based on eID and QR code
  • Automatic validation of balance, access rights and frequency of visits
  • Clear separation between free and paying zones
  • Additional protection against misuse at the barriers
  • Intuitive operation for all visitors

User-tailored access

  1. Entry
Visitors identify themselves via a Smartline column with eID reader and QR scanner. The pillar automatically checks the visitor's eligibility: residence, balance and frequency of visits are verified. Everything in order? The barrier opens automatically.
  2. Free zone
After access, visitors first reach a zone for free fractions such as cardboard or isomo.
  3. Paid zone
Visitors with paying fractions drive on. There, identification is again required via a pass reader.
  4. Exit
When leaving the site, the pass is scanned again. This keeps the visit correctly registered and trackable.

A total solution in the field

Two DBK barriers with radar sensors were installed at the entrance, combined with two Smartline kiosks with eID and QR code readers. In the paying area is an additional Smartline column with integrated payment terminal.

For additional security:

  • A detection alarm that warns of attempted passage under the barrier
  • A turnstile for pedestrians, equipped with eID reader, QR scanner and screen
  • Additional scanners at the press for access control

There are also three additional DBK barriers with alarm function as well as two S-Line barriers managing access to the paying zone.

A renewed standard for recycling parks

Puurs is the first of eleven recycling parks to be equipped according to this new infrastructure. With this solution, IVAREM has a future-oriented installation that combines maximum control with ease of use for every visitor.
